Man, how has it even come to this? *laughs*
It's a public holiday, so what better way to celebrate than with stuff from Japan!! *laughs* Alright, me. This is more than just a teaser, but yeah, this year's plan for doujinshi (which is running on full force as I do this) is going to be this, and then a whopping FIFTEEN books from Melonbooks which we will be seeing them in about a month if things go well, so meanwhile... let's talk about what is here!
Also, this is not like, the best of the best out there Toranoana isn't known for its lavish stock of indie art books (unlike the melon who just bought everyone into exclusivity as it seems), so we shall talk about what I can find there! Here's a hint: Some of them were mentioned last year. *wink*
So without further ado, let's!
WHY TORANOANA
Well, it actually started off with buying the new book from illustrator Chigusa Minori in their new lesbian girls' love special (with Ren-chan in a bunny suit *umph*) (lol) and we will get to that in due time just not this time around (or next time around, but next next time I promise), but also due to padding the order which we talked about a bit yesterday, mainly only just shipping fanclub newsletters seems kind of cringe imo, and we aren't due on Melonbooks and the new Comiket (yet) so unironically, Toranoana also sells doujin stuff, just not as many as the former, because these guys, these guys DARED TO WALK IN THE FACE OF OUR OVERLORD MELONBOOKS (lmao) and not care about exclusivity and stuff (though I would also argue the others who never even appeared in these platforms and are still famous, but we will not cover those) and just want to reach as large of an audience as possible.
I would like to say this is my maiden voyage into doujinshi but I did do that last year already so maiden for this store then! Haha also not true they knew I bought the whole series of "Douki-chan" from them through this very platform already. *giggles* Te-he
As usual, all illustrations shown I will link with their respective social posts if possible, or else take it as a chance to showcase their work so I can convince you to support them too. *wink* We shall talk about each of the 3 books I have purchased which are featured over the past few years in more detail, but not until we did the unboxing I guess. *dabs*

So first up, let's talk about someone rather familiar and yet I have never had a chance to talk about them. They are the character designer to Hololive VTuber Shirakami Fubuki, this isΒ Nagishiro Mito's book for Comiket 100!Β Yeah, this is not exactly a new book it's from 2 years ago and the pages are creaking as I flip through them *cringe* but if you had some deja vu on the art style then you shouldn't be too surprised. This is unlike the first time I realized that they do make illustrations other than make the cute virtual fox friend who still till today is gaining friends fans by the minute. *giggles* Still, I am very into their Anime-style drawings to be real honest with you, and the eccentric topic of foxes with guns does sound appealing, so I decided to give this a look. Yeah someone has a seriousΒ konkon fox fetish right here lmao
No really this is real cool and I don't even have a classification for this till date we have only been looking at scantily-clad drawings of cute Anime women-

Alright I guess it's time to talk about this walking pedophile lmao no really you must see it to believe what I meant, this is illustrator Kantoku-sensei's book for Comiket 102!Β Yes, this was one of those that slipped away from my review last year, and I'm here to pay the debt. I do know of them some time ago through Pixiv and thought their art style was spectacular, but I am also super aware (haha) and concerned about how far they would go to portray... very young women in adult-like situations or mishaps of such, let's just say that. *laughs* And that's why I didn't consider them last year lmao so yeah, take this with caution as you look, because we are about to start something... well, I hope not your fetish for girls way under your age. *silence* Maybe I should just put the disclaimer up again over here just for this one book haha
Interesting fact, their name has a meaning in the Japanese dictionary, and yeah, I guess if you draw your art you can be your own director in what looks like a movie about little girls in their wetΒ underwear- Let's stop describing what this is and move on lmao

And to wrap this short review up and yes I have finally done myself a favour to buy more from their lovely collection, it's Hiten-sensei's illustration book for Comiket 103!Β Yes, this is from end of last year which means this is also fall and winter-themed in terms of drawings which are great, but I just want to say that their work is supreme no matter what they dabble on. And since I'm not going to include them in the upcoming Comiket review, this will be as much compensation as I will give them. Heck, it's like summer comes by every time and I NEVER buy their latest works! *laughs* No really, I didn't buy the one from last summer too. *silence* Oh well, we only got a yearly quota around here of 1 book per year for each illustrator so- CAN I TALK ABOUT HOW CUTE THOSE CHIBI DRAWINGS ARE THOUGH!!!??? (Haha)
I should talk about their involvement in various projects out there some in here are literally drawn for specific doujin events, but also they have been character designer for the light novel and for now airing Anime series "Gimai Seikatsu" which yep *thumbs up* you bet I'm watching because of them and not because of Saki-chan.
So you see, they are more than just famous. *giggles*

Okay I think that's about enough. *laughs* And yeah, I will have to do this for A WHOLE WEEK potentially once the Melonbooks batch appears so welp my free time that week whenever it will be. *giggles* Yeah, practicing the workflow process right now so I don't screw up my write-ups when the time comes in a month or so. I will update the respective parts in due time (gotta love those info cards) where I see them so that, you know, we all get the full experience just in case I haven't showed you enough and/or given you enough reason to support them wherever possible. I mean, if you can go to Comiket by all means, but I choose to do it this way, and that's my problem.Β

I should go to Japan and buy these from them someday hehe
