No not as in the physical booth in doujinshi fairs I'm not going to suddenly announce I'm holding a booth there to sell stuff I can't draw for shi- This is an actual site, you maaay have heard of them before. *wink*

Hey I didn't expect to do this so soon and I think I said that more than a month ago when I did that run for Comiket 105 which was from Melonbooks, this time around we are taking a detour this should not be unfamiliar to you because we did it once with (payment gateway RIP) Toranoana and that went so well so why not explore more online stores which sell these and aren't exclusive to our overlord and that will also take my debit card?

So introducing our newest contestants, and hopefully, this will fill in that obligation and/or gap in the space of Japanese indie art that I have so long followed and awaited... not in time for my birthday but that maybe we will talk about in detail in a bit.

Let's!

HOW THIS ALL HAPPENED
I better start to explain myself before I have to justify how I broke my own rules- No, not on this. *laughs*

I should start to explain myself on how this idea came to be, considering I am already distraught by not being able to do this with Toranoana, and how I forgot about BOOTH and how they also sell doujin books and doujin goods (lol rhyming?) like what Miwano Ragu-sensei did for selling their acrylic (not stands which I wanted so badly now but) board which costs a bomb? Bruh. *laughs* Still, that had not crossed my mind until I diverted my efforts to support Hamunezuko-sensei which I have been following on social quite a while now. And this is how it all happened. *giggles*

Short story long, I knew of them earlier last year but I did not buy their C104 artbookΒ from Melonbooks and I apologize, so the plan was to buy their digital photobook from years ago but then I won't be able to talk about them anyways also they were huge and I was not keen on reviewing another 100-page long (Edit: 168 pages) artbook ever since we did that years ago, but more recently they just published an actual, physical, godsend (lol) doujinshi for the recent winter Comiket!! And I could not be more hyped to talk about it! Sadly, limiting the book size (it was spanning 32 pages) and where I buy them did not help in making this happen, but as I did with the Toranoana run, it just had to be not from the monopoly of these stuff nicknamed Melonbooks and not in the primer period where I review more than a dozen of them. *laughs* So this will make sense in terms of review time, and since I also found out that the sensei did not sell their book exclusively there, when I dug though their social media posts (see for the C104 link of the book too) that they could be bought through BOOTH, I suddenly had a brainwave: Why not do this with a couple more books from the site? And the rest was history. Well, almost.

HOW IT ALL WENT
I learnt that BOOTH, apart from also selling doujinshi in limited selections of course this isn't that giant we know and love *ack* haha, but also due to repeated selling periods, I could only find a handful of books on sale end of January, and even then they aren't of the latest Comiket ie. Comic Market 105 and just read back on the older posts for my explanation of this. So to keep this relevant, I scoured the directory finding stuff that are still within my rules (I'm not going to bring in the commandments) which just have to be original illustration books which aren't part of a set (they bundle these with other related goods to boost sales which isn't surprising I just don't buy them) and it's rather hard to find because there was a super limited selection of them. They also have to be timeless so no numbering on the cover (lol), but I would argue getting from the latest Comiket was harder. Thank goodness the site has proper tags for these so finding them was easier than at Toranoana (SUCK IT lol), and I ended up with 2 more books though lesser in content, that fit the bill.

Getting them to ship to me though, this was more of a challenge. Because for starters, they bundle in batches of distribution from BOOTH themselves where available. All 3 books were bought in 2 batches because one of them which I assume isn't available at BOOTH's distribution center, was sent in independently thus has its own shipping fee, but I was able to cut the local shipping fee off one of the other books (which would not be possible if I used Zenmarket because they are a ripoff BOOM GOTTEM) which was fine but then I met the next obstacle: They weren't shipped out immediately. Uh oh. Doing this at the start of February thinking that they will appear by Valentine's Day *sob* was too good of a joke, it appeared long after my birthday so bundling them on time to review them then was already impossible to begin with. What could have never been, dude, what could have.

Now that we are done with deliberations, let's start, shall we?

Oh I almost forgot:

Yeah okay NOW we can start. *giggles* I'm sure these books will be rather harmless but just in case we have some surprises within, you know? *laughs*

Hamunezuko "MY PINK"
Miyashiro "Sun Light"
nokia "S na Kanojo to no Date Plan"

Let's get the unboxing going, shall we?

Continuing where we left off this morning... lol yeah check those out if you haven't

Eh this must be the one book that got me to pay more shipping...

... and the others are here!
Hey girl whose name I still don't know.
*giggles*

Damn this book is thin, very thin...

Here we go, the line-up!!!
(Fantastic, isn't it?)

Oh wow this came with a postcard of the cover, very adorable imo

So to start us off, and they are my reason for this run to even happen in the first place as I have mentioned in the long intro before you saw this, this is Hamunezuko's new illustration book for C105!! I think I already knew them because I did miss ordering their illustration book for C104 lol I am so sorry, but suffice it to say as I see more of them and their thin yet unique lines and its featuring of this girl as you see throughout the book, I must say I have taken fancy of her which is also why I saw their art book which I would have bought on digital if not for thinking and/or noticing that they have done a new illustration book, and here we are! They are what I was here for, so let's show more about them! This is quite a thick book too, probably thicker than those thighs I would argue. *giggles* The illustration is also thick on lore, showing the interior as the main girl in everyday life, and the exterior is a figurine or doll or sorts, with all the retail packaging on the cover, and you can read the footnote later to find out more.

TL:DR; tetto-sensei I still can't get your books now so this is what I settled for. *laughs* (Just joking, Hamunezuko-sensei, you were great too or else I wouldn't have gone through all the trouble of doing this)

Ladies and gentlemen, THIS.
This book is what started this whole review post.
*thumbs up*

Barbie but in a Japanese indie art book.
"Recommended age: 6+" by the way haha *dabs*

Well they wrote this by themselves so I can save myself some introductions...

Okay this is the black horse in this review and I might say I am glad to be part of something new, because this is Miyashiro-sensei's first ever illustration book for C105 and I am SO GLAD I did not know of this when I saw it in the BOOTH listing. Hey, new artists not succumbing to our overlord Melonbooks and selling their stuff outside of the universe just to gain popularity? Tell me I should not support them any way I can. *giggles* I doubt I will need to tell you how great their artwork are, because despite their overall sketches being rather rounded especially when I noticed on the faces of the girls drawn lol, they are pretty much Anime-like girl drawings and that fascinates me as much as any discovery of such artwork, so sensei you are welcome, it was a coincidence as much as an affirmation of your efforts.Β

Pureness at its finest here, I know this is not Hiten-sensei but it's good enough for me. *thumbs up*

Oh this was how I found out I was looking at their first ever illustration book.
"2nd print" though so I think they are doing well.
*wink*

Oh boy...
*laughs*

And last but not least because if you want lesser then you don't have a choice LMAO, this is (not the phone manufacturer but)Β nokia-sensei's new illustration book for C105!! If I didn't get this wrong, they have such a series but likely in visual novels which were most of their works but we can't show any of that here because in case you didn't notice their resemblance to the content I have shown you previously with Minakami Rinka-sensei, their day job is to draw art for a matured audience. *silence* This time though, and shout out to those who voted to tell them to sell this onlineΒ (instead of physically at the event), they graciously dropped their skills down to the normie level (lmao) to give us a short story about what it means to date a sadist girlfriend. *laughs* Not gonna lie here? This was what first got me into them despite the lack of content and this barely creating the minimum amount of pages on a book where half of them is just text, uh... I'm glad I gave this a chance even if it means I can check if I will be able to bang this chick later be f**ked by this chick later afterwards since she's kinda cute. *laughs*

I hope you are ready for this because I'm not. You hit that disclaimer checkbox, right? *laughs*

Oh, they have done this series since 2012??
HOW OLD ARE THEY??
*laughs*

Honestly saying though, after seeing this? I don't mind seeing more content as long as it's not me licking her shoe. *laughs* I can bend my back and wear a neck collar though. *laughs*

And... this shall be it! I barely squeezed a review post out of this with these 3 artists so hopefully we can still do this in the future again, fingers crossed. And that's why the title was also labelled by store name and by year because I guess we will do this in the off season since summer Comiket will take the bulk of August anyways, we shall see. Meanwhile, I guess this is how I will continue breaking rules and reviewing doujinshi from artists I know, from the manga series they have made hopefully sold outside of Melonbooks, to just their art books sold outside of Melonbooks- You see the problem now? *laughs* Which is also why this is a good time to talk about the ones that did NOT make the cut. *dabs* These are, in no particular order (the most time-consuming part of writing lmao):
These are just the ones I see at that time, and do not represent the full C105 line-up in BOOTH, because I swear I saw some of them appear online too as they resell their books. These are just in time when I saw them which is why next time maybe? More like timing maybe, but this will do. Let me take half a year break (from review, usually I start way earlier) from this and we shall come back to appreciate more of Japan's indie art culture to the fullest, yes? I would've preferred digital but *laughs*

P.S. Hey sadistic girlfriend from nokia-san's book whom I don't know the name of: I happen to have a sounding rod here so if you would just- *laughs* (Sorry but I gotta make this joke I don't know why *silence* AND DO NOT LOOK IT UP)
