Uh... It's not a mansion. *laughs*
This is because with this very post, I shall define everything, and I mean EVERYTHING about fictional me and my inherited "villa" as I shall now refer to, and I shall also go in depth on what this thing I inherited actually is, as there will never be a story long enough to explain all this lore I created for myself. *giggles*
So join me!! In celebrating (spoilers) the upcoming season 10 which will conclude this year but I chose to do this a little earlier and there is a reason for this too, but also, how damn rich I am- How much of a loser I am throwing money into this property just to get chicks. *dabs*
ABOUT THIS "MANSION"
Okay, for starters, the inherited property I got from my fictional grandfather (lol) is technically not a mansion, as a mansion would need to be larger than this, which I will show in a bit. Thus, I have decided (also for word count purposes hehe) to refer to this property as a "villa" which is smaller than a mansion but still a fully detached house. So basically, by the time you read this, all the other posts (and fanfic page) will be updated to use this term apart from intros and outros since I don't think there is a need to do so (I might update those someday), which will encompass all stories, fanfic diaries, and conversations going forward, and especially yearly summaries so don't ask why this was published way later in the day. *giggles*
With respect to the lore, we can just assume that my grandfather was rich enough to purchase (for the wife?) a villa far into the city where we lived, but also knew to not go for a traditional abode. So he settled for a minimalist modern house where he spent "wonderful times" with grandma (lol) since you can say she was likely why this abode even exists. And of course, I have hinted that I have also visited the premises during my high school summer holidays, and met some people in the neighbourhood. *wink*
And then, as I will mention again in the yearly review in more detail, that the villa was passed on to me mainly because of my parents' divorce but also to pass on generational wealth which is based. But this was also under the assumption that (1) I have to keep the property's outer shell in good shape ie. adaptive reuse, (2) I do not sell or fully transfer the property which means I can only rent the place out to earn money, and (3) maintenance is fully paid for until I get a full-time job, and I will have to deal with it by then. Since I was still in university when this was decided, the transfer technically happened when I came back from Europe, if you would recall, will be the start of the fanfic series. And we can also assume the house was maintained in good condition until I took over, in which I was then promised a year of maintenance fees before I am on my own, as I try to recruit tenants during the time.
Outside the lore though, and this has been true from the start, I based the villa off the August Moon property in The Sims 3 (DM me if you know of the game or property, screenshots as taken from the official mod store) known to be the abode of the Crumplebottom family, and I have took over the house in one of my playthroughs back in the day as I took fancy of its modern look with its high ceilings and beautiful interior. And this was just in the base game, but to be fair to me I have never seen good property as a kid so... *laughs*
CHANGES TO THE VILLA
![]() | ![]() |
| Ground Floor | Top Floor |
As soon as I took over, because I know this property (see above) would be impossible to rent out to pay even for the maintenance with just the one room (which was meant to be the study room) and the master bedroom so I had to make some changes, which means I had to take the year of maintenance fees to pay upfront while I continue paying for this AND maintenance using my own salary. *sob*
These changes include:
- Added a guest room and a small bathroom which included a shower, by carving out part of the living room on the ground floor
- Added a new bedroom beside the study room on the top floor, by taking out some balcony space which made this the most expensive change yet due to maintaining the building's high ceiling (which I assume technically already broke the rules, but oh well, we can assume I explained this to grandpa)
- Added another bathroom on the top floor similar to the ground floor but placed beside the study room and expanding the latter slightly, which will ensure all 3 rooms now take up (according to Floorplanner app) 12 square metres which is on the lower side of the average rent room in Japan
I did decide to eventually add a pool to the back yard which isn't large enough to put one to be fair, but also, not like I'm going to do fanfics using bromide photos of bikini-clad Japanese voice actress- You know that's not happening. *laughs* (And thank goodness Karin-chan is not in the present day timeline!!! *dabs*)
I will show the final layout in a bit, because it will only make sense after I talk about my tenants!!
ABOUT THE VILLA TENANTS
Okay, now to talk about my real fantasies. *giggles*
As with any landlord, I practically chose to post my initial listing for tenants to only allow female tenants to ensure a safe living environment (and you should ask your nearest landlord why male tenants can be bad) but I'll leave the details of how I got my first tenant in first in the main stories. *wink*
In summary, MaiMai stayed for free because a recent law dictated that properties in the area need to be occupied or subject to fines or even legal charges, so I rather let someone stay for free, and she took the offer considering this was her first and she didn't know any better. *giggles* Moeshi cannot find out about this. *laughs*
Yui-chan came in some time later and stated that she wanted a quiet place to stream, and by the time the renovations are over so the top floor was ready and MaiMai was out often, so she thought this was okay for her. But of course, eventually she moved out to her own apartment because she made a lot of money lol, and I still like to think it's because she can't stand seeing me with MaiMai or even Moeshi who moved in shortly before she left.
Around this time MaiMai also got busy and didn't stay at home for some situations, so I took in Moeshi who of course you would know, bargained more than what she wanted, dodging rent sometimes while not knowing about MaiMai's privilege even though I should just transfer it to Moeshi at some point. *giggles* If she stops spending so much money on everything else, maybe I'll tell her that someday. *shrugs*
And to reach spoiler territory and none of these are confirmed yet so take them with a huge grain of salt, I also have been searching for a replacement for Yui-chan's room, even though it will be used from time to time to house special guests like *wink* YukiEri or Chisa-chan, but yeah, keeping a room empty does not do good for my bottom line, so I'll get to that sometime. And don't ask why I haven't rented out my master bedroom because NO ONE would pay to live in there. Yeah, they just want to live in there LMAO shout out Moeshi's suggestion to move into my room. *dabs*
WHERE THEY HAPPENED AROUND THE VILLA
Okay, this is the best part I have been waiting for (lol), and thanks to Floorplanner app for this, here are the top-down blueprints for what the current villa looks like!!

| Ground Floor |

| Top Floor |
Numbered in the images (pardon my drawings lol) are all the events that have happened at the villa:
- [20230729] I sheltered Kana-chan from the rain, where I took a towel to pass to her standing at the entrance
- [20240323] MaiMai brushing her teeth in the ground floor bathroom, where I wanted to get spare toilet paper for the master bedroom
- [20240810] Yui-chan sitting at her chair listening to me in her bedroom on the top floor, enjoying her cup noodles more than me reminding her that the door at the top floor bathroom is broken
- [20240817] MaiMai sitting on the living room sofa with me, asking about the new tenant Yui-chan who saw us together in disgust
- [20241026] Moeshi woke me up after she walked out of the top floor bathroom, as I passed by her going downstairs
- [20250315] Moeshi suggesting she move into the master bedroom where I sleep to maximize rent, talking aloud by the kitchen and surprising MaiMai
- [20250816] MaiMai accessing the roof hatch via the ladder on the top floor, and also where I fell and spent a weekend at the hospital
- [20251227] Yui-chan laying down on the master bedroom bed beside where I was resting, to tell me that she is leaving
- [20260704] Akarin standing by my front door in the rain, informing me on how to deal with Ayaneru before leaving
- [20260711] Moeshi walking into the master bedroom showing off a revealing dress, while I contemplate how she has yet to pay rent
- [20260808] MaiMai talking to me at the doorway to the ground floor bedroom, after her first night stay in the villa
- [TBC] I woke up Chisa-chan in the morning after her stay over for work
So yeah, dropping some spoilers here for next season just to justify celebration of 10 seasons of fanfics, but yeah you get the point, we haven't covered enough ground just yet. *giggles* We hit my bed already though, if that is surprising to any of us. *laughs*
VILLA Q&A
And to conclude, here's a short summary using the relationship chart in Milanote I have shown you before, questions about the characters in the fanfic series so far with respect to the villa:
Oh yeah, why I did this post today instead of end of the year. Apart from the obvious because we're doing a roundup by then, as mentioned, the villa is based off August Moon, and the full moon of August is... uh, close to today lol it was yesterday, so you get the point. *giggles* I had to also decide between getting Ten-chan's fanfic on point for her birthday to end or do this, but I knew the latter would take more effort, so I decided to do this today so... close enough. *dabs*
So yeah that's it!! Hopefully you (and I) have a better idea of what's up with this not mansion LMAO, and I think by this point I should (as in fingers crossed) have updated all the relevant posts on the naming at least on the stories themselves first (I honestly don't want to bend lore that much) so it'll be more coherent from here on, starting from the story on season 10 which I have teased. *giggles* See you next week as usual for the final month of fanfics for this long season!!
P.S. I thought I should mention this instead of overhauling the early stories, but since the first mention of tenants is then the first time I talked about "the mansion" which happened in season 3 ironically, uh, I have looked through the stories before then which fall into one of two categories: Either they are ambiguous enough in mentioning where I live (see story with Kana-chan), and references to "my place" typically refers to living with the Natsukawa step family (see Inorin stories). In both cases I think they are fine, since in the former the word was never used, the in the latter I have explicitly talked about the imouto, so we should be good. Will update if there are any more deviations due to this one word change. *laughs*
