her nickname but I may have to put a mature rating in this blog for that since someone will think I want to be in bed with her I REALLY DO THOUGH haha *furiously imagining it happening*
Welcome back. If you are a fan of appreciating beauty through photobooks, then you're at the right place. This time, instead of Anime voice actresses I'm going to walk out of that circle for a while and introduce to you the ONLY cosplayer I've fallen in love till date: Tachibana Haru a.k.a. Futon-chan.
THE ORIGIN
I'll keep it short because I swear I've mentioned her in this place a couple of times. I'll refer you to
her Twitter account for all the other information, but to summarise Tachibana Haru is a regular cosplayer, sometimes MC, sometimes casual model and everything in between. Quite a beauty talent herself despite the height (haha sorry), she started to accumulate her popularity with a goal of becoming a
Race Queen(RQ) in Japan and playing games and appearing as guests as seen in other recent games too if you ever took notice of anything else surrounding it besides playing the damn game. I knew her from mobile game "
Alternative Girls" back in 2016 (still playing it) and the official livestream featured her and another guy (some ripped dude who left) ("Muscle Miyazaki", they call him) playing the games and talking strategies and so on. As the game gained attention, I also took myself some time to watch the sub-4 hour livestream on average only to be amazed by her and her rapport with the others, displaying her hearty character and sometimes cheeky personality. It eventually died down with the closure of the series 2 years in the run, and was only later in the year revived with another regular livestream series featuring popular hosts which of course, did not include her.
Along the way, I thought she was lovely so I followed in her career into the (
doujin) entertainment industry, I voted her online two years straight which in the end gave her the prestigious RQ title, and... I went to insult her avatar when she hosted her first solo livestream playing Mario Kart.
*laughs* (I seriously didn't expect her to see my comment in the 100 people who were in it and again, I'm sorry) All in all, it was quite a fun 3 years and beyond, as she continues to grow, find a talent company to stay in which coincidentally stemmed from the producers of that gaming livestream, and it came to this. When she announced she was going to make her last Comiket photobook, I knew my chance was coming. (#YearOfThePhotoBook lol) Since I can't be there to shake her hand or hug her (she probably will be okay with that maybe) I had to patiently see Comiket end with her booth (only available on last day) and wait for her to announce she will be selling them at an online store.
So yeah, I've done it buying her bromides two years ago, and this is the definitive one. Futon-chan, I did it. I gave you the support you deserve. Now let's take a look at it!
THE "REVIEW"

No gimmicks in packaging here, unsurprisingly. All hand-packaged probably by her maybe (it was definitely her 2 years ago even the handwriting on the letters) so a lot of effort went to keep it light (as in budget) yet safe to bring to here in one piece. I'm glad nothing got ripped or bent or anything despite the lack of padding, honestly.
(What happened to the first two though? Well... I didn't buy them.
*laughs* Remember, this is the year where I "officially transform" into an idol otaku lol)

In this lavishing 138-page photobook (no interviews or old photos whatsoever) Futon-chan takes a trip as requested by herself to her talent company, to Okinawa! In the afterword, she mentioned how she has went there multiple times with family and with friends and now alone for photo shooting, it was always a different experience. As you will see below, the scenery there is stunning, she says the people are nice there, and she is clearly enjoying her food. I need to go there someday haha

Surprisingly throughout the photobook you might notice (or I have noticed) that some of the shots aren't that perfect mainly due to the angle it was taken, making her face look rather... unrecognisable. Again, not insulting her here, but you may want to see her without makeup. You'll get what I mean. And that's why makeup is so important for a lot of them. Moving on!

So yeah, production level may not be as awesome as those we've seen before, could use more planning to give it a more solid theme. But then again it's just a travel-based photobook so creating a theme isn't really a thing anyways so... the only thing I got out of this is that (...) (... just like in Japanese pornography) I like to see slender girls half naked. There. I said it. If that is why you keep making photobooks for Comiket I don't blame you Futon-chan half the doujinshi fair is also like this but of cosplay. So thanks for making a not cosplay photobook I really appreciate it.
THE EXTRAS
You may have took a peek from the unboxing above, but I'll talk about the extras here in detail.
They offered three tiers of sets with regards to the photobook and if you have attended the reveal livetream like me (haha), there was a basic tier with just the book,
one with 2 sets of bromides (photos) and a tote bag exclusive for the Comiket Event #96 (hence "C96" as seen above), one with the previous plus badges and an animated version of her on a towel and a sticker (which I don't think it's good I mean I can see 3D why like 2D haha), and a luxurious tier with all of the previous tier PLUS two A3-sized posters and one A2-sized poster. Yeah. So... I went with the above. Not that I don't want to spend that much, but she shouldn't have made a 2D mascot lol also my reason to not buy her previous photobook which featured a drawn version of her.
But yeah, it probably was a good choice to include a tote bag when you are at the event so you can carry the stuff and so this bag seemed very redundant in comparison. (Must be great being here haha) Anyways, we know the bromides (photos) are the ones worth the pricing on the set, so I'll be sure to scan those and make them my wallpaper all around my room so I can adore her beauty all day haha

Okay this is pretty long already so I'll stop here. Now I have so much satisfaction I'm so glad Futon-chan is here to push me through the rest of the work week. *grins* Cya guys around then, I guess. Oh just a heads up? The next book worth of photos will be coming from Baba Fumika. She announced one like, last month. It's travel-based too and has bikini shots too. (Audience: But that girl has a rack) Oh boy YOU BET I'll be pre-ordering that one I just want to see if special gifts are available hehe
P.S. A more appropriate title for the post "How The Doujinshi Industry Continues To Thrve" lol it's probably not because of her I don't know why though
