Wow, I really thought I don't have to do this anymore. *laughs*

So yeah, taking out the CD player and dusting off the top after what was almost A YEAR?? *laughs* Of waiting, we FINALLY have something worthy to talk about. *giggles* Well, not that there isn't, but in an era of digital releases, I don't think we will have more of these moving forward but foreshadowing is a terrible jinx for the slew of potential releases over the next few weeks hehe, so we shall see. For now though, let's talk about what got us back!! It's idolism, what a surprise, TrySail still holds up after so long, what a surprise. *giggles*

How am I supposed to do this again? I forgot. *laughs*

音楽 The Klassic Note Review
TrySail - Shoukei [Single]
Artist Limited EditionRegular EditionAnime Limited Edition
(Yes thank you for close-ups and I love them so much I cannot even, and I don't mean the Anime character which I have no idea who they are)

It has been a while since I've talked about TrySail and their singles, so this 10th anniversary one might be a good start after what feels like forever in single reviews. This is one of those no-surprise releases and I like these seeing how many artists out there are trying to grab our attention with more catchy songs, but this has those but more to its roots of singing for Anime, which makes this all the more important of a release, similarly to the last time we talked about their singles. How did (from left to right) Natsukawa Shiina, Asakura Momo and Amamiya Sora fare this time? We will not have too far to look for the answers.

(1) Shoukei [Trans.: Yearning]
From the first chorus:
"Why do people use their weakest finger
To make promises in order to confirm to come together?
Because you are here I know of your weakness
Even then (I) wish to be my your side
Going around chasing and missing (your) back
Stretching out the hand which has yet reached
The path that you have been following
(I) see the yearning"
This is a song to remember. Despite being an ending theme song for an isekai Anime, the song itself has a lot more depth being a more serious melody, singing of weaknesses and bringing each other up from their lowest times, it does link what such Anime is known for adventures back to the idol group itself, as with their journey which started more than a decade ago. There isn't much flair as with the image of the single also, as with the music video also just a general display of the members, but the focus would be on the tone of the song itself, which also feels right at home apart from their more cool and cheerful songs as they are known for.
Rating: Admirably Average

(2) Cheers and Cheers!!!
From the first chorus:
"Everyone Cheers and Cheers
Running through (to reach here)
Smile and Smile
Exchanging energies together
One step at a time, piling them up

With hearts Cheers and Cheers
(It's) better than dreams
Seriously.
With (our) whole bodies and souls already, thank you so much
The (start to all this) sharing
It was all (from) you"
This was the 2nd of their 10th anniversary songs revealed after their live tour earlier in the year, released in May so there is quite a long gap between this song and its physical release, and it did not really get me the first time I heard of it, but as I listen to the single in full... I feel their cheerfulness once again. It is more than just reminiscent or just a catchy melody, and despite me feeling less than motivated to listen to the song months ago I would admit, the melody this time around did get me back to listen again, and it makes me remember their singing as an idol group, and probably how great this was in the live tour... It's more than a cheerful song. It's all the sweat and tears we have known them all this time, and I think the song producers deserves a proper praise for making this relevant. Making the English blend in well with the happy lyrics is a plus worth mentioning.
Rating: Cheerfully Average

As I would have likely said last time, this is a very average single. So much in the comfort zone, I actually want more. Hearing them sing seriously and happily truly is the best package of a single you can get from an idol group, and TrySail has nailed that more times than I can remember. Times may have changes, things might be different, but I'm glad we get to come back to our origins again and sing new songs delivering new feels which truly, makes me relate to idolism even in the world of Japanese voice actresses.

- Aozaki Shouhei, on the Klassic Note

(Wow, why do I sound serious in all these reviews? *laughs* Oh well, don't ask for more because who knows when the next time will be. Ikimono, please?)

THE PACKAGE
Okay unlike the previous times I did this, I came into a real bad conundrum. Firstly, since the B-side was revealed months ago, I should have known to give the single a pre-order just because, but to be fair to me I didn't get super into that song until release day in early August, but what happened afterwards is the downhill of special gift bromide photos to choose from various stores (in which I have full liberty to purchase from through Buy&Ship's proxy service now *wink*) which went from Sofmap (I wanted a close-fitting group photo so it can fit the long portrait screen of my phone lol) to Gamers (which looked like the popular pick just because close-ups and smiles which *blessed*) to Animate (with the rather serious look but still close-up) to well hopefully I don't have to choose Amazon Japan so I went with 7-Net Shopping which is also serious but not close-up but I like girls looking back at me... in photos (LMAO) so I went with that and am somehow not regretting it now. *smiles*

Otherwise, you would be glad to know that the booklet didn't feature girls looking back because they hate people who buy Regular Edition singles (lol) and that's f**king cringe, but the purple disc looks real beautiful if you get your hands on them, and it has been a while since I had the CD-listening experience, so +1 for this review, I guess. *giggles*

I like how I have been calling it "Shoukei" all this time lol must everything sound like your Japanese name, me? *laughs* But the translations are calling it "Doukei" first though??? *cringe* I'll stick with what I have heard so far, even from themselves, honestly, they can't be wrong. *dabs* And since I didn't intend to get sick leave for the week (lol) I will continue to do package reviews from here till the weekend and I will remember to do the fanfic on Saturday also thanks for the reminder, as tomorrow will be the actual package review where I will explain why I ended up making one item queue for next month, and how I have to spend money on THREE art books in order to ship the other fanclub thing which I sent to our old friend Tenso and burn on international shipping fees for some reason. *shrugs* Seen you then. *giggles*

P.S. I did have enough time from this ironically not because I shipped this early it can never be earlier than the deadline these jerks put for application for lottery prizes lol which is typically on the week of release, but they were nice to put it a month later so I got to tell them what I want: MOAR BROMIDES!!! *laughs* Yeah, I didn't get the freebie I want to I want more lmao
